Original Summary

Hey r/SideProject , Most people build web apps, SaaS dashboards, or games for their side projects. I took a slightly crazier path: for the past year, I’ve been locked in writing ~130k lines of pure, zero-dependency TypeScript to build a low-level runtime engine from scratch. No massive frameworks, no bloated dependency trees—just raw TS, system-level primitives, and building custom IPC and process management logic completely by hand. It started as an experiment to see how far you can push TypeScript as a systems-adjacent tool without drowning in node_modules, and it turned into an entire year of edge-case debugging, memory profiling, and architecture refactoring. There’s no shiny landing page or marketing budget behind this—just a solo dev’s obsession with building low-level infrastructure from the ground up.
