Original Summary
I’m Maksim, I’m 16, and I work on an M4 MacBook with no external monitor. One screen, all day. Tabs mean I only see one thing at a time, and split view locks you into two apps in fixed halves. Neither works when I need three things open at once. So I built Tabula. It’s a Mac browser where sites open as windows on an infinite canvas instead of tabs. You drag them, resize them, line them up next to each other, zoom out to see the whole board, and split them into zones for different projects. It looks like macOS but works more like Miro. It took me 5 months. I released it a few weeks ago and started actually marketing it this month. Right now I have 4 users. Two of them are somehow from Japan, which I still don’t understand. What I’ve learned so far: Building it was the easy part. Getting anyone to even look at it is much harder, and I didn’t expect that at all. Talking to users is the best part. One of them DM’d me asking for better extension support, shortcuts, and more zones on the free plan, and I shipped all of it that week. That felt better than any day of building it alone. Shipping early was right even though it felt too early. Everything I’ve fixed in the last two weeks came from real people using it, not from me guessing. The free version is a real version, not a trial, you just get 2 zones instead of unlimited. The paid plan covers hosting and my AI subscriptions, that’s it. https://tabulaapp.com and we also have a community r/TabulaBrowser Happy to answer anything about how I built it or what I’d do differently. submitted by /u/Tabulaapp [link] [comments]
