Original Summary
I am the dev. My job search web app, https://hirecarta.com wasn't doing great on conversion until I really researched how to get AI to do great web design and implement it. I didn't save a "before" screenshot, but needless to say it was standard AI slop, lots of text and a gratuitous image or two. I tried a few different javascript CSS animation packages, then asked Claude to redesign a section of my landing page asking it to "take full advantage of the animation capabilities to make the section educational and eye-catching." I was so happy with the result I asked it to do the same to the other sections. Overall conversion went from 4.48% to 6.31%, which is a sizable increase! You can take a look at my site to see the animations. The key thing is to not animate for the sake of it, but to help tell a story. In my example, the animation shows the process of using the Hirecarta Chrome/Firefox extension to automatically import a job description, then Hirecarta generates a tailored resume by comparing the job description with the user's master profile, then the extension auto-fills the job application portal with the user's info and uploads the resume automatically. Let me know in your comments if you think the value prop is clear or if I could improve on it. My wife says "a user will give you one shot to convince them your product is worth a look. They will not read any web copy a second time." Wise words... submitted by /u/Bitter_Cellist586 [link] [comments]
