I built Design Repo to give coding agents design context. References, rules, visual prefs. Every session I was explaining the same intent again, so I tried to fix that. The system started working. Agents could pull the context. The designs still were not good enough. I realized I had mixed two jobs. Keeping design context across sessions felt real. Trying to make AI design like a human depended on the model still being weak. Models got better. Free skills showed up. A lot of what I built felt less needed. So I stopped. My rule now is simple. Pretend the model is already excellent. If people would still need the product for control, continuity, or team consistency, maybe keep going. If the only pitch is better output, you are racing the model. A working system proves you can build it. That is not proof it is worth building.
