Original Summary
Hey everyone! I'm an 18-year-old self-taught developer, and I've been working on a side project called StepByStories . The idea came from a simple problem: when you're learning a new language, most books are either too difficult to understand or too boring because they're designed for complete beginners. So I decided to build something that solves that. StepByStories is a mobile app that makes reading in a foreign language more accessible and enjoyable. Here's what it does: Adapts stories to your CEFR level (A1–C2). Supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese. Includes audio narration for listening practice. Offers bilingual reading to help you understand unfamiliar text. Lets you improve your reading skills at your own pace. I built it using React Native and Expo, and it's now available on both iOS and Android. The app is free to try, with an optional subscription for additional content. I'm currently trying to figure out how to grow it and reach people who could actually benefit from it. Website: https://stepbystories.com I'd love to hear your thoughts! Does the concept sound useful? What would you improve? Any advice on finding my first users without spending a lot on marketing? Thanks for checking it out! submitted by /u/Appropriate_Dirt7813 [link] [comments]
