Original Summary
I'm an indie developer from Italy. My last apps were the kind you'd expect in this sub: an AI task manager, a lecture transcriber, a tool that generates App Store screenshots. Useful stuff, sold on productivity. This time I wanted to make something that doesn't save anyone a minute. So I built Snowfall: it makes it snow on your Mac, and the snow actually piles up on your windows, desktop icons and Dock. Shake a window and its snow slides off. Leave one alone and icicles grow under it. Every now and then it builds a snowman on the Dock, and later it melts. It's not even SaaS: $2.99 once, no subscription, no account. Under the hood it's still a real business setup: Paddle as merchant of record, my own small license server, signed and notarized builds, automatic updates. So, a question for people who've shipped both kinds of things: does "nice" ever sell as well as "useful"? Or are delightful little apps something you build for yourself and hope a few people love too? snowfallmac.com submitted by /u/MuchAge1486 [link] [comments]
