Original Summary

I'm a solo dev. I make Tack+, a Mac app that lives in the notch. It has a small companion called Plus, a local AI assistant you can ask for things like "start a 25-minute timer" or "switch to dark mode". I can't do motion design and I didn't have the budget to hire someone. So I had Claude Opus 5.5 (in Claude Code) build the video for me. Since I posted it [on X / on my site], it has brought in a bit more than 10 paying customers [in N days]. Small number, but for a solo app it's a real one. There is no timeline and no After Effects file. The video is a React/TypeScript project (Remotion), 1080p at 60 fps. Every frame is computed from its frame number, so the same code always renders the same film. - The notch, the panel and the widgets aren't mockups. Claude read my app's Swift layout code for the exact sizes and used real renders of the app. - Every sound is synthesized in code: no samples, no licenses. The keyboard sound has one keystroke per character, placed on the frame where that character appears, so each language has its own audio track. My first message was a brief, not a script. It said what the video is for (present the companion, make people want to buy), what it has to show (everything it can do, with real examples, inside the notch), the feel (smooth, character properly animated) and the languages. I left the "how" to Claude. Then I watched each version and said what bothered me, in plain words: "Remove the background music." "It's not smooth enough, there's too much sound design, and it's a tiny bit too fast." "Change the small sound effects, add slightly more of them, and keep the typewriter sound under the text." What I'd tell someone trying this : - Give it your real product: code, screenshots, real copy. The video only shows things the app really does because it was built from the app. - Describe the result you want, then react to what you see. "Too fast" is a perfectly good prompt. - Keep sound and picture separate. When I only changed the sound, it swapped the audio track on the finished file in seconds instead of re-rendering. - Watch and listen yourself. Claude can measure loudness, but it can't hear whether a sound is pleasant. That part is still you. Five messages of direction in total, over [about a day]. Happy to answer questions about the setup.
