Original Summary

I pitched a home service company about building an app for them to solve a few major problems they have with their current software. They really liked the demo I shared but they are in a situation right now where they just brought on a huge sales force and can’t afford the build that me and my team would do for them. They do $60m/yr so it’s super important to get it right, but they had this guy come in and build a website for them for free with base44 and they love it. I talked with the guy that built the website and it’s clear he isn’t technical but the owners put him on a pedestal as this technical genius and want to pay him to build the app because obviously he said he can do it for drastically cheaper. How do I explain to a non technical person the importance of having the right person build it and also tell them “sorry I know you love this guy but he doesn’t have the technical knowledge to build something like this”? Normally I would talk about some horror stories about non-technical people building with ai but they feel confident that the guy will deliver because he built their website and has built an app before. submitted by /u/FishermanAlarming990 [link] [comments]
