Original Summary
Hey everyone! I wanted to share something I have just been building for fun and truly seeing how far I can take it. Still a long ways to go but its truly been a blast and taught me a lot about backend infrastructure and vibe coding limitations. In short, I have always used Discord to manage communities, sometimes in the tens of thousands. I always felt that I wanted this feature or that, wished it was native, didn't want a million bots etc. I also always wanted a place to really centralize everything and have my work/business as well. So, I decided to max out my claude max (no puns intended) on building a platform that felt nice to me, calling it Hubs ! Things I added that I wanted Channels that are more than chat A Rules channel is a real rules page with an “I agree” step Announcements opens as a news board with headline cards Get verified with a progress ring, plus a Links directory, a Live page with a schedule, and a Help desk for private tickets Buttons on pages can only point inside Hubs, so nobody can turn your Rules page into a phishing page Voice that sort of follows you Your call follows you in a bubble style so you can wander to another hub and it comes along in a little live capsule You can watch together content in sync through lobbies Music with a shared queue, indepdent on each room Soundboard and a quick menu Theater mode with chat on the side Join-to-create rooms that spin up a fresh room when you hop in Guests can join a call from a link and wait to be let in, no account needed Reduce bots by making things native Event sign-ups with roster spots (tank, healer, damage). “Count me in” grabs a spot and locks it in Levels that hand out roles, role pickers and button panels Giveaways and polls Application forms with scoring, where acceptance can unlock a role Docs with nested pages, plus canvases and lists Hub Packs that pull in live data, like the games your group plays Tools for both people and power users Drag-and-drop categories, folders and pins for your places Jump to anything with ⌘K (Ctrl K on Windows) Send later, Time away with auto-replies, quiet hours in your own time zone Inbox, Saved, Drafts and Reminders in one place Make it yours with atmospheres, accent colors, light and dark mode A short welcome tour, tailored to how you joined Sign in with a passkey or a QR code. PWAs Safety from day one Every image is checked against known child-abuse material, and every file is scanned for malware Accounts named to look like Hubs staff get a “Not Hubs staff” tag. Lookalike letters (Cyrillic "а", “rn” posing as “m”) don’t fool it. A scam-link warning before you leave Hubs A staff queue, an audit log, lockdown and protection playbooks Recently deleted keeps channels and pages for 7 days, because I’ve deleted the wrong one at 2 AM For teams too Organizations with a private side: teams, policies people acknowledge, single sign-on (WIP) External guests from other companies in a channel, clearly labeled Because why not I ha
