Original Summary
Most uptime monitors start with a form: add a URL, pick an interval, pick who gets the alert, and again for the next site. I wanted one with nothing to set up. So Pingpile.com works like this: Sign in with Google Connect Search Console (read-only) Get an email when something breaks Every site you have in Search Console becomes a monitor by itself, and so does every sitemap you have submitted. Add a site to Search Console next month and it is picked up without you doing anything. It tells you when a site goes down, when a sitemap breaks or shrinks, and when Google stops fetching it. I built it after our own sitemap was dead for months and nobody noticed until customers phoned about 404s. Now I am not sure what to focus on next, and I would like your take: A) A small phone app that does one thing: the notification. An email is easy to miss at night. B) Stay narrow: the Search Console sign-in and sync is the whole product, and I make that as good as it can be. C) Open it up to sites that are not in Search Console. You can already add a site by its address, but today that is a side door. Or something else that would make you switch from what you use now? Free beta. I only let 5 new accounts in a day, after that it is a waitlist. submitted by /u/twomasc [link] [comments]
