I started building Ember because I had a problem with how traditional journals work. You write about your friends, your partner, your parents, and all the little moments that make up your life. But everything gets buried in a chronological timeline. I wanted a journal where the people in your life mattered as much as the dates. So I built one where mentioning someone with @ automatically gathers those memories on their own page. There's also a living graph of the people in your life, connected stories, and a way to revisit moments by person, place, or time. I got a little carried away with the design along the way. It's free on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. No account, no AI, and your journal stays on your device and syncs through your own iCloud.
