Original Summary

Have you ever wanted to know what your phone is doing when you're not in use? The question led me to create Explain My Phone, an Android application which I have been developing all by myself through Versanyx Studios. My aim was to create a tool which helps people to understand their devices rather than making the kind of promise to magically speed them up by using another "RAM cleaner". Here's what it can do: Insights into background activity — find out which apps wake up when your screen is off. An analysis of the battery and the hardware—looking at the battery's health indicators, the temperatures, and the hardware information. Insights into app permissions – find out what permissions installed apps are requesting and see information about app trust. Look at the device's health and performance — including its health scores, trends, and benchmark results. The design places a strong emphasis on privacy – there are no advertisements, no need to create an account, and no analytics or tracking systems behind the scenes; analysis is carried out locally on your device. It is important to clarify that whilst background activity insights show app activity, they do not automatically mean that the app is spyware. As an independent developer, I can say that taking this app from concept to a published product has been a valuable learning process. I recently posted about it in the productivity group on Reddit, and the reply got thousands of views, with many people trying out the app and a number of users going on to buy the Premium version. The feedback I've received has encouraged me to continue making improvements. The main app can be tried for free, although you have to pay once to unlock the extra features. 📱 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.versanyx.explainmy_phone I'd genuinely love your feedback: What would it be that you would want to examine regarding your phone if the Android system made it difficult to understand? Could it be the battery being drained? Maybe apps that are running in the background? Or perhaps the hardware is the problem? Or is it altogether something different? Since I'm carrying out this project on my own, advice from individuals who care about useful software would be really appreciated. submitted by /u/Material_Flower4557 [link] [comments]
