Original Summary

I'm the developer. KeyUp is a side project I've built on my own, nights and weekends around a full-time job. I wanted a walkie talkie that didn't mean buying radios or carrying another device. So KeyUp turns an Android phone or a Wear OS watch into one: turn the watch crown (or hold a button) to talk, and everyone in your room hears you right away, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. What it does today: Rooms and Spaces for a crew or a family Guest passes: share a link or QR code and someone joins from their browser with just a name, no account Talk from the watch by turning the crown, raising your wrist, or tapping. Crown talk works with the screen off on my Pixel Watch 3 The room plays through your normal Bluetooth headphones like music, so headphones without a call mic still work Open mic, volume per person, Do not disturb, calls and chat Now in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian Honest limits: it needs Wi-Fi or mobile data, it's not an emergency device, iPhone works through Safari for now, and the Apple Watch app is still in development. What I'd love feedback on: Is it clear what it's for in the first 10 seconds? Does talking feel instant? What would stop you (or your team) from using it? The app and the screens are real.) submitted by /u/Brave_Load7620 [link] [comments]
