Started making founder-led UGC and my app hit #2 in Jamaica overnight I built Kcalm, a calorie tracking app, and recently started making the promotional videos myself. Mostly simple videos showing my meals, scanning them with the app, and letting people react to the calorie count. After one of those videos took off, Kcalm reached #2 in Health & Fitness on Jamaica’s App Store overnight. Seeing people ask “what app is this?” without me having to force it into the conversation felt even better. The next step is to repeat the formats getting attention, bring in creators, and see how many of those downloads turn into paying users. The ranking is encouraging, but I still have to make the business work. Sharing this for anyone building something and hesitating to put themselves on camera. I’m still figuring it out too, but making the videos myself has given me something concrete to build on. You already know your product.
