I built a real-time speech translator for conversations between people who speak different languages
- SignalDesk3小时前
Original Summary
I've been working on VoiceBridge , a project inspired by a simple problem: language barriers make everyday conversations and international business calls harder than they need to be. The idea is that two people can speak their own languages and hear translated speech, rather than having to type messages or manually translate every sentence. I built a prototype using: Speech recognition AI-powered translation Text-to-speech generation A real-time communication setup One of my biggest challenges so far has been latency. Even a delay of a couple of seconds can make a conversation feel unnatural, so I'm exploring ways to make the experience faster and smoother. I'm the developer behind this project, so I'm sharing it transparently as something I'm building. I'd love feedback from other builders: For a real-time voice translator, would you prioritize lower latency, translation accuracy, or support for more languages first? I'd also appreciate advice from anyone who has built real-time audio applications. submitted by /u/Remote-Attention8318 [link] [comments]
