Original Summary
I was job hunting, and everything ran on referrals. But most of my connections weren't real. I'd rather have one person who'll actually vouch for me than 500 LinkedIn contacts. So I built Good Wasta. ("Wasta" is Arabic for connections or pull. Usually it means the bad kind; this is the earned kind.) How it works You list who you can introduce people to: "Head of Engineering at [company], we worked together for two years." Never the contact's name; they never signed up. You list what you're looking for. Requesting an intro holds 1 credit. The introducer asks their contact privately, makes the intro, and earns the credit once you confirm it happened. If it doesn't happen, you get the credit back. Everyone starts with 1 credit, and you can't buy any. A public "connector score" shows how many different people you've helped. The build: Next.js, Postgres and Vercel. The fun part is that it's built almost entirely by Claude, running unattended one task at a time against a spec, a list of rules it must never break, and a decision log I check in on. Happy to share how that went if anyone's curious. It's early and the board is small, so every real offer makes it more useful for the next person. I'd love feedback on the idea, the credit rule, or anything that feels off. https://goodwasta.com/ submitted by /u/Professional_Monk534 [link] [comments]
