Original Summary

A few days ago, I shared CutOut here, my free and open-source AI background remover that runs entirely on your computer. I didn't expect the amount of attention it received. People downloaded it, starred the repository, and even left some encouraging comments. Thanks to everyone who checked it out! Since then, I've been working on CutOut v0.1.1 , which adds a bunch of features that weren't available in the first release. What's new in v0.1.1? More export options Export images as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Keep the background transparent. Replace it with a custom solid color using an HSV color wheel, hex input, or color swatches. Use another image as the background. All export options work with both single-image and batch processing. Live edge adjustments Added an Edges slider to make cutout edges sharper or softer. Changes appear directly in the result preview. Quality-of-life improvements CutOut now remembers its window size and position. Added Discord, GitHub, and feedback links in Settings. Added an update-check link and version information. Improved compatibility checking for CPUs without AVX2. Made changes to Linux AppImage packaging to address a reported startup issue, pending verification. What's staying the same? CutOut is still completely free and open source. No subscriptions. No accounts. No uploading your images. All AI processing happens locally. Available for Windows, Linux, and macOS Apple Silicon. Release status These features have been implemented, but v0.1.1 isn't publicly available yet . I'm currently fixing a GitHub Actions build issue before publishing the update. The existing v0.1.0 release is still available. GitHub: https://github.com/gserect-gif/cutout-app I'm continuing to improve CutOut and would appreciate any feedback, feature suggestions, or bug reports. Thanks again to everyone who supported the first release! submitted by /u/Only_Spite7811 [link] [comments]
