I’ve been working on a side project called TyreVI , and it’s finally live on Android. The idea came from something pretty simple: most people know they should check their tyres, but it’s easy to put off, and even when you do look at them there’s usually no record of what they looked like last time. I wanted to see whether a phone could make that process more structured. TyreVI guides you through taking 3 photos of a tyre and produces an AI-assisted visual report covering things like visible tread condition, sidewall condition, wheel-area damage and identifying tyre information. The part I’m particularly interested in is the history side of it. Each check can be stored against a vehicle and tyre position, so instead of doing one isolated check you can build up a record of the tyres over time. I’m the developer, so I’m obviously too close to it at this point. What I’d really like to know is: Would you actually keep something like this installed after trying it once? And if not, why not? Is tyre checking simply too infrequent to justify a dedicated app? Would the saved history make it useful? Is AI involvement a positive, or does it make you trust the result less?
