Original Summary
Over the past several months, I have been engineering Pawdit, an independent mobile expense tracking application built with Flutter, Dart, and Drift (SQLite). Most personal finance tools today require mandatory cloud sync, third-party banking aggregators, or recurring subscriptions just to log daily outflows. Pawdit was built around strict client-side privacy and behavioral friction rather than passive data harvesting. Core Architecture and Design Decisions: Zero-Cloud Local Persistence: The application operates entirely on-device using Drift SQLite tables and reactive streams. There are no remote backends, user accounts, or analytics tracking SDKs. All financial logs remain confined to the local sandbox. The Cat Math Engine: Rather than abstract charts, expenditures are dynamically converted into finite mortal labor hours based on a calibrated hourly wage baseline. If wages are uncalibrated, spending is measured strictly in physical vice units (such as tuna cans). The ledger is overseen by a deadpan auditor cat named Taxes. The 10-Second Reality Check: Discretionary expenditures trigger a mandatory cooling interval. Walking away preserves capital and awards discipline treats. Proceeding with the purchase docks one of nine monthly lives. Sanctuary Habitat: Treats earned through spending restraint allow users to unlock and place furnishings in Taxes' room. Depleting all nine lives causes the auditor to retreat into an empty carton until the next cycle. Current Stage and Android Closed Beta: The iOS release is currently awaiting review, and the Android build is in active Closed Testing on Google Play. I am looking for Android users to test the current build and provide feedback on keypad responsiveness, UI scaling across different screen densities, and local SQLite persistence across app updates.
