Original Summary
I want to share a project I'm building: Synkinema, a local video editor with MIT-licensed source code. You and an AI agent can work on the same video project: write and revise the script, assemble footage, generate narration and add captions, then keep editing it yourself in Studio. You can also build a channel brief with your agent: who the videos are for, the tone, editorial rules and lessons to apply next time. That context can evolve as you make more videos. It is creative guidance you maintain, rather than automatic analytics or model training. Local Supertonic 3 narration is already integrated, with no paid TTS API. A ready voice take can be added to the timeline with subtitles. There's also a library shared across projects for audio, sound effects, images and video, so reusable material is available for the next edit. There's still a long way to go before this is a really polished product. But you can already accomplish a lot, and I'd like to develop it with people who actually try the workflow. Desktop editing is the current focus. The app runs locally; your chosen AI agent may have its own costs. Source and setup: https://github.com/dziksu/synkinema Testing, bug reports, examples, docs and code contributions all help. If you tried it for one short video, which step would matter most to get right? Disclosure: AI assisted with substantial parts of the code and with drafting this post. I directed the work and verified the results. submitted by /u/United_Inspector_653 [link] [comments]
