Original Summary

Verb is an AI agent that lives inside other people's products and does things for the user, like cancelling or moving a booking for example. Three days ago it told someone "nothing was cancelled" while their booking was already gone. That sent me through everything the agent could see and say. Here is what went live today: The AI never sees a real database id. It works with a short reference and the record's name, and the real id is swapped in only at the moment the action runs. It cannot leak what it never had. The approval card speaks human. "Cancel reservation Priya?" instead of a raw id and an internal function name. Someone on my last post asked: what if the booking changes while the approval card is open? Now, right before anything runs, Verb looks the record up again. If it moved or vanished, nothing happens and the assistant tells you what changed. Another reply pointed out two bookings can share a name. The card now adds the time, so you always know which one you are approving. Every message shows when it was sent, in your own time zone, with Today and Yesterday dividers. The humbling part: my automated tests all passed. Then I clicked through it in a real browser and the moved-booking check failed, because the browser sends data in a slightly different shape than my tests did. 1,200 tests, and the bug only showed up when I used it like a person would. Fixed, retested by hand on desktop and phone, and shipped. If you build agents: what would you try first to make one act on the wrong thing? Every hole someone points out gets fixed faster than the ones I find alone. :) submitted by /u/Southern_Kitchen3426 [link] [comments]
