Original Summary
i know this sounds like asking for a bad review. i sell a database of business ideas pulled from reddit complaints, apple reviews, called businesssideasdb(.)com. most people who leave the pricing page leave to go ask chatgpt if they could just get ideas from it for free. so i added a button that does it for them. it opens chatgpt with a prompt already written that compares the two honestly, including asking chatgpt whether its own ideas are stale or made up. about 100 people clicked it in september. 20 of the people who bought clicked it first, one of them 7 minutes before paying. the risk is obvious. chatgpt could just say "no, use me". mostly it doesn't, because it can't link to the original thread or show who's already making money on an idea, and the prompt asks exactly that. the bigger thing i learned is that people were going to ask anyway. this way at least the question is a fair one. anyone else doing this, or am i the only one dumb enough to? submitted by /u/erwinalp5 [link] [comments]
