Original Summary

I've always preferred the lightweight, basic layout of encoding tools like Handbrake, but despite ffmpeg being quite advanced, it felt like nothing I found really used it to it's full potential. I wanted to create something that bridges the gap between encoding utility and video editor. You can do some basic video editing on here, mostly geared at cutting segments from gameplay videos and easily exporting for vertical social media formats with presets you can import that will isolate HUD elements into layers you can move around, apply background blur, and even automatically generate and animate captions for you. You can have it automatically process files using rules set by filenames/filetypes/directories, so that the workflow for processing game clips for social media can be executed in under 30 seconds from launching the program (it loads in under 1s on my machine). Would love feedback from actual devs, since this is my first github project, and I built it entirely in claude code since I'm not a programmer. https://github.com/gitclanged/HandPeg submitted by /u/clanginator [link] [comments]
