Original Summary

i'm slightly obsessed with walking while building software. most of my side projects happen on a walking pad. then i stumbled across someone who wanted to explore WoW by physically walking instead of holding W. and that idea got stuck in my head. so i spent today's 10,535 steps turning it into the little demo-page you see here. walk in real life → character moves. stop walking → character stops. it's still a simulation, not connected to a real treadmill yet. that's the part i want to tackle next. the ridiculous thing is i don't even play WoW lol. i just love the idea of making hours spent exploring virtual worlds count as actual movement.   submitted by   /u/d_uk3 [link]   [comments]
