Original Summary
Hey everyone I'm a software engineer and indie developer from India, and I recently launched my first consumer app - RUPEX. The idea came from a problem I had with expense tracking. I wanted to keep track of my spending, but manually entering every small UPI transaction became frustrating. After a while, I would simply stop tracking. So I built RUPEX around a simpler workflow. With Share to RUPEX, after making a payment through apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm, you can share the payment receipt or screenshot directly to RUPEX. RUPEX reads the transaction details on-device, you choose the category, and save the expense. No SMS or notification access is required. The app also includes expense and income tracking, budgets, EMIs, savings goals, spending insights, and Ask RUPEX, a financial assistant. It's currently available on Android in India. This is still an early product, and I'm mainly trying to learn what actually makes expense tracking useful enough for someone to keep using it. I'd really appreciate feedback on: • Does the Share to RUPEX workflow feel easier than manually entering expenses? • Is the main value of the app clear? • What feels unnecessary or confusing? • What would make you use an app like this regularly? • What feature would you expect from a modern expense tracker that is currently missing? I'm more interested in honest feedback than compliments, so feel free to point out what you think I got wrong. Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rupexio.rupex Thanks! Would love to hear what you're building too. submitted by /u/TemperatureOnly6709 [link] [comments]
