Original Summary
I make this, so take it with that in mind. It's a native Mac app for running macOS, Linux and Windows VMs on Apple Silicon, $49 once. The macOS and Linux side sits on Apple's Virtualization framework, which is the easy part. Windows was the problem, because that framework just won't boot it on ARM. I told people that for a while, then gave up on the framework for Windows and put a second engine in: QEMU on Apple's Hypervisor framework, running as its own process. Two bits ate most of my time. Windows ARM64 has no virtio-fs driver, so the shared folder is a tiny WebDAV server on localhost that Windows mounts as Z: with its own WebClient. And pasting a file from the Mac into Windows needed a patch to the SPICE guest agent, since the clipboard protocol has no file type at all. Snapshots were the other surprise. I started with plain APFS clones, but QEMU rewrites the qcow2 in place, and the shared blocks fell apart fast. I measured about 18% still shared after two hours. So QEMU guests use qcow2 backing chains now. It's still not a gaming setup, no GPU acceleration and Windows needs macOS 26. 7 day trial, no card. https://kyvenza.com submitted by /u/ScholarBackground836 [link] [comments]
