Original Summary
Hi all! I'm a solo developer in Minnesota. I kept doing the same thing every Thursday: opening a weather app, checking five towns one at a time, and trying to remember which one looked best. So I built WeatherRoam. You drop pins on a map and each one shows its forecast, the drive time, and any weather alerts. The part I use most is Weekend Pick: you choose a drive of 1 to 6 hours and it ranks the towns in range by their weekend forecast. You can also ask for Saturday or Sunday alone. How it decides: each day first passes fixed checks for storms, heat, wind and smoke. Then a small ai model answers one question, whether a visitor would enjoy the forecasted weather at each destination. Drive times come from a table I built from OpenStreetMap data, so a search costs nothing per request. It's free, with no ads and no account, on iPhone and Android: https://weatherroam.com/get?utm_source=reddit I would appreciate any feedback you have! submitted by /u/Repeet [link] [comments]
