Original Summary
I’ve posted about this project here before: 46,000+ jobs across 1,000+ companies My open-source job portal is being used in 30+ countries Since then, the project has grown quite a bit, so I wanted to share an update and get some advice on how to sustain it. Current usage I enabled Vercel Analytics 17 days ago and since then: 2,880 visitors 16,096 page views 70+ users on most days 35% bounce rate Users from 70 countries 1,000+ page views on the busiest day Google Search Console The project has also started getting consistent organic traffic: 43,475 impressions 699 clicks Average position: ~7 Some of the top queries are: ashby job board ashby job search ashbyhq job board ashby scraper — currently around position 4 The problem The project is open source and free to use, but the infrastructure isn't completely free anymore. Vercel is already showing: ISR Writes: 225K / 200K I’m also running the scraper, storing the job data, updating listings and serving the search portal, so the infrastructure cost will continue increasing as usage grows. I don’t want to put the job search behind a paywall or charge job seekers just to use it. So I’m trying to figure out the best way to keep this running long-term. For people here who maintain open-source projects: How do you handle infrastructure costs once a project starts getting meaningful usage? I’m considering things like sponsorships/donations, cloud credits, or moving parts of the infrastructure to cheaper hosting. GitHub: https://github.com/rishilahoti/ashby-job-scraper Live: https://ashbyhq-scraper.vercel.app/home Sponsor: https://github.com/sponsors/rishilahoti And yes, I’m also looking for people who find this useful and would be willing to support the infrastructure costs. submitted by /u/rishiilahoti [link] [comments]
