Original Summary

I built a 1,000,000 pixel canvas (1250 x 800) that anyone can paint on and nobody owns: https://tagwall.io . You can look at it without a wallet, an account or a transaction. The idea came from the Million Dollar Homepage. It still loads after 21 years, but most of its links are dead, and it's only up because one person keeps renewing a domain. I wanted to see what that looks like with nobody to renew anything. How it works: Painting costs a few cents a pixel, and each painted area can carry a link. Painting over someone costs 10% more than they paid, so busy spots get expensive. After 90 days an untouched square's price drifts back down, so abandoned space gets cheap again. It runs on a blockchain (six of them), because that was the only way I found to make "nobody owns it" true rather than a promise on an about page. The code has no owner, no admin function, no pause and no upgrade path, and the source is verified so anyone can check. No token, no presale, no NFT. The only thing to buy is pixels. The honest numbers: it launched in May. There are 43 tags across the six walls and almost all of them are mine. One person I've never met has painted, and on that wall they've outspent me and sit at number one. A month of daily posts on X brought no new paints. Building it was the easy part. I spent more time keeping six free data providers working than writing the contract. What I'd like feedback on: when you open it, is it obvious what it is and what you can do? And would you paint a square for a few cents? If not, what stops you? Painting needs a crypto wallet, and I suspect that's most of the answer, but I'd rather hear it from you. submitted by /u/tagwall_io [link] [comments]
