Original Summary
Looking up a word is easy. Remembering it after you close the article is the part I wanted to help with. I built Vaulto Cards, a Chrome extension for saving vocabulary from what you're already reading. Select a word or phrase on a web page, create a card with a translation and usage examples, check the result, and save it. You can review your cards in the browser with spaced repetition, or export them to Anki. The clip shows a card for the Spanish phrase “charlas de sobremesa” (“after-dinner conversation”) and browser review. It's an edited walkthrough made from actual extension screenshots; the illustrated card was generated using an OpenAI API key. You can try a limited number of free AI cards without an account or API key. Continuing beyond the free allowance uses your own OpenAI key, with API usage billed separately. Direct export to Anki Desktop needs AnkiConnect. AI translations can need corrections, so cards are editable before saving. Chrome Web Store Source code (MIT) If you learn languages through reading, would you rather review these cards in the browser or send them to Anki? submitted by /u/Random1k17 [link] [comments]
