I built https://costsplitter.tech/ as a minimal but surprisingly versatile competitor to apps like SplitWise. It will always be free to use, has full receipt parsing capability, and has zero bloat. There are 2 supported flows: Quickly split a receipt for a one-time throwaway use. It scans the receipt, itemizes it, and gives you a shareable link so everyone can add themselves and claim their items. Then you can make any edits if necessary and easily view a complete breakdown of who got what and how much each person owes Create an expense group to keep track of medium- to long-term balances between a group. Easily add expenses to be split evenly among a subset, receipts that parse exactly like flow 1, or payment records. At the end of it all, clearly see suggested payments to clear everyone's balances NO account or download is ever necessary, and everything is encoded in the link you share with your friends. You don't need to have a receipt ready to scan to explore what the app has to offer. Both the flows have samples you can view and mess with!
