Original Summary
Hey everyone, I've been helping friends and former colleagues with their resumes for a while now, and I kept noticing the same problem over and over: Most people don't have a "bad" resume. They have a boring one. They write things like: "Responsible for managing social media accounts." "Helped with customer support." "Worked on a team to deliver projects." Technically true, but it tells the reader nothing. No story, no impact, no reason to care. So I started showing people a simple framework: turn each bullet into a micro-story — what was the situation, what did you specifically do, and what actually changed because of it. The difference in responses they got was honestly kind of shocking. Eventually I built a small free tool to make this process faster. It's called ResumeStory ( resumestory.top ). You paste in your plain work experience, and it helps you reframe it into something that sounds like a person did it, not a job description. It's not a resume builder and it's not an AI that just spits out generic buzzwords. The goal is to help you find the actual story in what you already did. I'm not here to spam — I genuinely want feedback. Specifically: Does the concept make sense to you? If you tried it, did the output actually feel like you , or did it feel generic? What's missing that would make this actually useful in your job search? Happy to answer any questions, and I'm open to harsh feedback. That's why I'm posting here. Thanks for reading. submitted by /u/Sam_Yang2 [link] [comments]
