Original Summary

Hi, I'm Mincho, one of the developers of GPT Realtime Assistant at Arte Soft. Our iOS 1.2 release just went live. The use case I want to test is a conversation where you understand some of the other person's language, but lose the details: a language lesson, a conversation with family, or an in-person meeting. Open a live translation session, choose the target language and speak. After a spoken turn, the app shows the translation, can read it aloud, and keeps a running transcript in the session so you can look back. Translation is one direction at a time; swap the languages for the reply. Outside translation mode, you can ask the voice assistant questions, practice a conversation or add a photo/screenshot as context. Sessions can be organized into projects. The interface is localized into 47 languages, including Japanese. It uses OpenAI's GPT Realtime 2.1; this is an independent app, not an OpenAI product. A few practical limits before anyone pays: iOS 26+, an internet connection, and the app staying in the foreground for a live session. This isn't an audio-file importer, an automatic meeting-minutes tool or a replacement for a professional interpreter. Please get permission before capturing someone else's conversation. US pricing is $9.99/month with 2,000 AI credits. There is no free trial; extra credit packs are optional. Credits measure usage, not a fixed number of recording minutes. Your local App Store shows the local price. Would the running transcript help enough to use this regularly, or is a basic translator already enough? submitted by /u/MinchoMilev [link] [comments]
