Original Summary

Every September, my phone filled with messages: Monday doesn't work, Tuesday maybe after four, Wednesday only every second week. Twenty conversations, and one teacher trying to turn them into a weekly plan. I realised this wasn't an organisation problem; it was a data problem. Scheduling music lessons is a constraint problem: availability, lesson lengths, school, ensembles and travel either fit together or they don't. So I built COMUS, a free side project with a deterministic constraint solver that turns structured availability into one explainable, exportable plan. No chatbot or language model involved. Around 30 teachers used it in the first month, reaching more than 600 parents and students. Honestly. Feels pretty cool! I'd welcome feedback from anyone who teaches or coordinates lessons. https://comus.ederlabs.at submitted by /u/Adventurous_Loan2234 [link] [comments]
