Original Summary

Collab videos are hard to judge from a title and thumbnail. Sometimes a creator you like is in a video you'd never have clicked, and sometimes it's someone you'd rather skip. I built CreatorBlock to show who's in a video before you open it. How it works - The community tags which creators appear in a video (a bit like SponsorBlock, but for who's in it). Tagged creators show up as small badges on thumbnails. - You pick a filter per creator: Like (Green outline) Warn (Red outline) Dim (Fades thumbnail) Hide (Completely hides the video) - Tags are community based votes, If no one is tagged yet, you add them yourself using the button in the video player. If someone is tagged you can confirm (✓) or dispute (✕) on from the player. Privacy No account, no ads. Your filters stay in your browser. To look up tags it sends only the first 4 characters of a hash of each video ID, not the IDs themselves. Tagging and voting send the video and creator details. Full privacy policy: https://amerabyad.github.io/creatorblock/privacy.html Honest limitation It's brand new, so most videos have no tags yet. It gets better as people tag, which is part of why I'm posting here. I've personally tested on chrome, brave, edge, opera, firefox. Do the four filters make sense? What's missing? How would you want tag spam or abuse handled? EDIT: To see the extension in action, visit Trick2G's channel, his first few videos already have tags, that's where I was testing my extension. submitted by /u/Weirdo7071 [link] [comments]
