Original Summary
You can remember taking your medication perfectly clearly… and then realise you might be remembering yesterday. That’s the problem I started with when building DoseState, my side project. The decision I spent the most time on was how to handle uncertainty. If you don’t remember taking a dose, checking “taken” feels wrong. But leaving it blank loses the fact that you checked and weren’t sure. So “Unsure” is something you can actually record and see in your history. For scheduled doses with multiple units, you can also record them one at a time. Starting a dose doesn’t automatically mark it as completed. Around that, I’ve built the everyday stuff: schedules, reminders, a history you can review and correct, and PDF export. No account required; medication records stay on your device unless you choose to export them. Longer term, I’d like to expand import/export support and bring in readings from health devices. The idea is to view those readings alongside medication history in graphs, making it easier to look back and notice possible patterns. That wouldn’t prove what caused a change or tell you how to adjust your treatment. I’m developing this independently. There will never be ads, and all medication-tracking functionality will stay free. It records what you enter and doesn’t give treatment advice. Android · iPhone I’d appreciate feedback on the recording flow in particular. Does having an explicit “Unsure” option make sense to you, or does it need a better explanation? submitted by /u/metalLeveller [link] [comments]
