Original Summary
I’m working on Echo MSG, a WhatsApp service for turning voice notes into text. Sharing it here for feedback, with the obvious disclosure that it’s my project. The workflow is simple: open the Echo MSG chat, forward a voice note, then read and copy the text reply. Longer notes can also receive a summary and an action highlight. There’s no separate app to install. WhatsApp already has built-in transcripts on supported phones, so that’s the first option I’d try if you only need to read a note. Echo MSG is for people who want a separate, copyable reply and help getting the gist of a longer message. A few limits worth knowing: • You choose which notes to forward. It doesn’t monitor your other chats or insert text underneath the original message. • It uses cloud processing. If audio must stay on your device, choose an on-device transcription tool instead. • Transcripts and summaries can make mistakes, so check names, amounts and dates against the recording. • Free allowances and paid options are shown in the chat; it isn’t unlimited free transcription. You can see the workflow and start a chat at https://echomsg.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=voice_note_guides If you use voice notes for work, which part causes more friction: copying a detail, finding the main point, or remembering the next action? I’d appreciate feedback on where this workflow helps and where it adds an unnecessary step. submitted by /u/Ambitious_Ad4186 [link] [comments]
