I’m Rokas, the maker at Graphic Meat. I built MailVault after helping a friend whose work mailbox kept filling up with invoices and shipping documents he still needed. MailVault is a desktop email client for macOS and Linux. It connects to Gmail, Microsoft 365, or an IMAP account. Select messages and choose Archive, and it saves a local copy as a standard .eml file in a Maildir-style folder. The server copy stays in place until you choose Archive & Delete. Saved mail remains searchable offline and the files can be opened by other apps that support EML. The Free version includes reading, composing, replying, searching, and manual archiving with no MailVault backup quota; storage is limited by the disk space you choose to use.
