Hi everyone! I’m sharing SuperPinger Desktop, a Windows version of my mobile SuperPinger project. The idea is to keep host monitoring, ping history and a map in one desktop app. You pick a location on the map, attach a hostname or IP address, and configure how often it should be checked. The location is chosen manually—it isn’t IP geolocation. Here’s what the current v0.3 includes: - Automatic and manual IPv4/IPv6 ping checks - Per-host packet size, timeout and polling settings - Green/red map markers and a Favorites list - Ping charts, outage/recovery history and CSV export - Live traffic graphs for the computer - Telegram bot integration for outage and recovery notifications - System tray operation and a configurable desktop widget - Extra tools including traceroute, DNS queries and TCP port checks It’s built with Python, PySide6 and SQLite. The interface supports English, Russian and Kazakh. The Windows package includes the source code, and you can also run it from Python. This is an early release. Monitoring runs while the app is open, including when minimized to the tray; it doesn’t run while the PC is asleep. The Windows executable is currently unsigned. Telegram delivery still needs more real-world testing. Development disclosure: I used Codex extensively to generate the implementation and help with testing and documentation, while I defined the features and design.
