I've spent the last six months building GitStack, a source forge built around stacked reviews. The pull request workflow was built around one feature branch per PR, which worked because a person could only write about a feature's worth of code before it was ready for review. That's no longer the case now that agents are writing more code. An afternoon of agent work can come back as a forty-file, 2,000-line diff, and a diff that size is hard to review well. It's too much to hold in your head at once, so it tends to get skimmed instead of read. I wanted to split that work into small reviews without changing how I already work. I didn't want to relearn everything for Gerrit, manage a branch per review like Graphite, or leave GitHub and lose my CI and issue tracking. So I built GitStack, and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. In GitStack you work on one branch and group commits into small titled reviews that land bottom-up, one at a time or all together. When someone comments on a review in the middle of the stack, you check it out, amend, and push, and everything above it rebases automatically. Reviews that only got rebased keep their approvals, and reviews whose content changed lose them. There's a web interface for reading reviews and leaving comments, but you can drive the whole product from the CLI. The CLI is meant to feel like git. If you know git add, git commit, and git switch, you already know most of it: `` gs switch -c add-billing gs add model.go gs commit -m "billing: subscription model" gs review create -t "billing: subscription model" `` GitHub stays connected as a mirror, so CI, issues, and stars keep working, your repo stays a normal GitHub repo, and you don't have to migrate anything to try it. There's also an agent skill (gs skill install) that teaches coding agents the workflow, so you can tell an agent to split a branch into reviews or respond to comments and it uses the same commands you would. It's hosted and in beta, with a free tier that doesn't ask for a card.
