Original Summary
Full disclosure up front: I'm the developer. This is a post about my own app. Meridian is a cocktail recipe app with 888 recipes from 141 countries. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no ads, and it collects no data at all. You open it and look up drinks. That's it. A few things I learned getting here: I built it with no data collection on purpose. Most recipe apps and sites want an email or show you ads before you get to the drink. I wanted the opposite. The number 888 was deliberate. Eight is a lucky number in Chinese culture, and I built out drinks like a Baijiu Mule and a Longjing (Dragon Well green tea) Martini on purpose. I wanted the catalogue to feel global, not like 800 variations on an Old Fashioned. Launching on several stores at once was harder than building the app. It's live on the App Store and the Microsoft Store now, and Google Play is still in review. It's a paid app, $14.99 CAD one time, no subscription and no in-app purchases. Link is in the comments if anyone wants it. Happy to answer questions about the build, the store review process, or how you get to #2 in a category with basically no marketing budget (short answer: I'm still figuring that out). submitted by /u/Final-Elderberry-319 [link] [comments]
