Original Summary
I'm a construction superintendent building a SaaS for jobsite safety paperwork. The feature I just shipped drafts a daily risk assessment from a photo of the work area. Going in, I thought the value was the AI writing the hazards. It wasn't. What workers actually wanted was to not type. What their supervisors wanted was proof the worker read it. Those two pull in opposite directions, and the product had to satisfy both: The AI drafts everything, but every AI answer is visibly marked as AI The worker can't sign, print or export until they've confirmed every AI answer Anything a photo can't prove (lockout, permits, working alone) becomes a question, not a guess Old hazards that disappear from today's photo get a "Still true today?" prompt instead of being silently dropped The takeaway for anyone adding AI to a workflow with real consequences: let the AI remove the busywork, but make the human's sign-off explicit and unskippable. If I built another AI feature tomorrow, the lock is the part I'd copy first. I wrote up the full flow with screenshots here if it's useful: https://hrdhat.site/journal/flra-simple-easy-interesting submitted by /u/According_Waltz_5280 [link] [comments]
