I recently got into alternate guitar tunings and kept running into the same problem: most tuners are either cluttered with ads, hide features behind subscriptions, or make it unnecessarily annoying to tune to anything other than standard tuning. So I built GuitarTunings.app — a completely free, ad-free web app for guitarists. It includes: - Chromatic tuner - Presets for hundreds of alternate tunings - Custom tunings - Easy transposition of entire tunings - A database of 3,000+ songs with their guitar tunings The main idea was to make something that I would actually want to use myself: open it, select a song/tuning, tune the guitar, done. I launched it on Reddit a few days ago and the first post has reached ~13k views and brought in around 80 users, which was honestly a pretty nice first validation that people actually find this useful. I’m especially curious about the distribution side now. The product itself is basically done, so I’m experimenting with Reddit, SEO and eventually some affiliate partnerships to see how far a small niche tool like this can go.
