I organise a LOT of meals. Friend potlucks, family Thanksgiving, meal trains for friends, Sunday lunches, dinner for the week for my sons and their friends. Every single thing ran on memory, spreadsheets, whats app chats and recipe screenshot chaos - I couldn't ever find what I needed when I needed it and always ended up with a missing ingredient or a forgotten allergy. So I built GetLadle. I can't code, I built it with AI tools over about 14 months, and a proper developer now cleans up after me. What it does: you save recipes from anywhere, request recipes from friends, download from social media, upload screenshots or a page of your nonnas handwriting. Then comes the fun bit - you can organise your weekly shop, export ingredients, plan your entire week and host events. In events guests RSVP through a link and can flag allergies or claim a dish. You allocate dishes, request support with set up or cleaning up. You see who's coming, who's bringing what, and who's vegan before they arrive with a salad nobody eats. Events are always free and unlimited up to 10 guests. Create private circles with people you love to cook with, share recipes, comment on dishes they have made and see what they have cooked of yours. A grand total of 3 strangers have made events so far, and 2 of them created one and never invited anyone, which is either a UX problem or a courage problem and I need to find out which. What I'd like torn apart: Onboarding flow - is it welcoming and are you crystal clear where everything is. Save a recipe and set up a cook book - is this process seamless. Make a circle or event and try to invite someone. Where does it get confusing or annoying? Would you actually use this over Partiful or just sending a text? Be brutal, I've heard "just use a spreadsheet" before and I'd rather hear it now. Is the free tier obvious enough? I've been told the pricing page is the first thing people see and it puts them off.
