Original Summary
I'm a solo founder building a personal net worth tracker. Users link their bank accounts and the app shows their current balances alongside their other assets. I only need account information (balances, possibly transactions later). No payments. I'm starting with the UK and would like EU coverage later. I'm registering a UK company in January. What I've looked at so far: TrueLayer : the sandbox was easy to set up, but going live means being onboarded as a client. Their sales team told me they're focusing on larger businesses and can't take on clients my size right now. Plaid : not set up for startups in the UK and EU. There's no pay-as-you-go plan there, only custom annual contracts, and showing balances back to users means going through their licence route, which has a large fixed fee. Salt Edge : too expensive at my stage GoCardless / Nordigen : closed to new signups Enable Banking : EU only, no UK licence since Brexit Yapily : talking to them, but there's a monthly minimum and a long contract Finexer : also talked to them, similar monthly minimum Yodlee : seems aimed at larger companies The common problem is either being too small to onboard at all, or a fixed monthly minimum of several hundred pounds from day one, before I have many paying users. A few questions for anyone who's been through this: Which aggregator did you pick for a small or early stage app, and would you choose it again? Has anyone found a provider with genuinely usage-based pricing and no big minimum, or a startup programme? Is there anyone covering both the UK and the EU under one contract that's realistic for a solo founder? Any experiences, good or bad, would help.
