Original Summary
Just want to share a simple technique I've been having success with for validating ideas. Anyone who was around in the 2010s remembers the standard advice back then was to put up a landing page with a form to collect emails for a waitlist. This has been dead for a while for a number of reasons, not because of AI but rather because of how people use the internet now. People browse mainly through aggregators where the click through rate to anywhere off-platform is abysmally low, so the signals you get from doing this are not reliable at all. So I've been working on these high-fidelity product mockups/demos, I'll post them on various platforms and you can very quickly tell which ideas have potential, and more importantly what idea you'll actually be able to market and reach customers for. They're also just really good in general for being able to show a fleshed out version of your idea and get more accurate feedback, even if you're further along in the validation process. My best trick is to crop out or blur the name of the app, if you get a bunch of people in the comments begging for the name of the app then that's a huge signal. I've made a ton of them by now so I have a pretty sophisticated pipeline for this. You can see the example is obviously a joke, just to make it clear I'm not promoting anything. I'd like to continue to improve my pipeline by applying it to a wider variety of ideas, so if anyone is interested just hit me up and I'll make you some for completely free. submitted by /u/the_codeslinger [link] [comments]
