Original Summary
I nearly spent a week building the wrong feature for my SaaS. I'm currently building an AI tool that automatically qualifies and communicates with new leads for small businesses and over the last few days, I found myself designing a highly customizable follow-up sequence builder. You know the type: Follow-up 1 after 5 minutes Follow-up 2 after 2 days Custom delays Custom schedules Endless configuration And somewhere in there it hit me, I was building a glorified email scheduler with extra steps instead of an automated tool. Because realistically, no business owner wakes up and thinks "let me go tune follow up 4's delay settings". What they actually think is: "Did we ever follow up with that guy from Tuesday?" So, I scrapped the entire page and the feature. The MVP now just does three things without you having to tell it anything: Responding immediately when a lead replies Following up automatically when a lead goes quiet Handing the conversation to a human when buying intent is detected Funny enough, the product feels smarter now that it does more, without you having to configure anything. Anyone else ever cut a feature and watched the product get better for it? Would love to hear the story. (So sorry guys I am not spamming, I Mistakenly deleted the first post. ) submitted by /u/SecondNo5664 [link] [comments]
