Most directories are straight forward: Pay now to be listed now or else wait indefinitely. Great - if it's out of my budget I'll move on. No one wastes their time. Others do a backlink exchange. Not great but okay. I want to call out SaaS directories who make you fill product details. There will be zero info about pricing. Some will go as far as saying that "submitting is free". But read between the lines, it doesn't mean listing is free. Now you have spent half an hour giving them every detail they asked. Now they email you about the cost. It can be anything $39 or $399. How is it any less than scam? I'll go first: - Startupstash - Betalist I am very sure if your product gets some traction, they will shamelessly list it and add a verified badge.
