I support equipment in operating rooms, and I've lost a lot of hours hunting down the right manual for the exact model in front of me. So I built OpenManual. What it does Point the camera at the label, use a photo of it, scan the barcode on the box, or type what you know. It works out which part is the brand and which is the model, then asks the maker's site, public archives and the open web at once. The maker's own copy comes first. Every result shows the actual file's cover, where it came from and how well it matches. Nothing's saved until you confirm it. Ask a question about a saved manual and the answer quotes the document, with the page. Saved manuals open offline. Scan a medical device's UDI and you get its FDA record, instructions for use and recalls on one page. Honest numbers Live since September 6. In 1.2 the slowest search in my benchmark went from 65 seconds to 6, and the average across 26 devices got slower (11 to 14 seconds), so there's work left. I pulled the update out of review once so the notes wouldn't claim more than that. Three devices are free with no account. What can't it find?
