Original Summary

I’ve always wanted to customize my folders and Finder sidebar, but somehow this tiny category has subscriptions, paid icon packs and apps that each solve half the problem. Foldicon and Flairy are both good at what they do, but I wanted my own photos on the real Tahoe folder shape, any color with any SF Symbol, my own sidebar icons and a proper undo button. Instead of buying three different things I built Roopam and open-sourced the whole thing. No accounts, no server, no subscription, no “$29 lifetime deal”, nothing running in the background. It’s free for anyone, and the code is MIT so nobody can put it behind a paywall later. It started as a fork of IVG-Design’s SidebarFavorites and grew into its own app: photos on folders that you can drag and zoom, colors and symbols, undo and restore, and a small helper for the silly case where macOS won’t let a folder keep both its own icon and a custom sidebar icon.
